Nerve-related concerns. Assessment before supportive care.
Discuss sciatica, peripheral neuropathy, nerve pain, tingling, numbness or facial palsy with Dr. Amar Shinde in Chembur, Mumbai. New or sudden symptoms may need urgent medical care.
Understand symptoms and existing care
Describe the onset, location and progression of pain, tingling, numbness or weakness, along with previous diagnoses, investigations and medicines. Sciatica and peripheral neuropathy can have different causes; identifying the cause and any need for neurological assessment comes before selecting supportive care.
Dr. Amar Shinde, MD (Ayurveda), reviews your complaints, medical history, current medicines, diet, lifestyle and relevant medical evaluation. Nadi Parikshan and Prakruti Analysis are components of traditional Ayurvedic assessment; they do not replace appropriate medical examination, diagnostic investigations or specialist care.
Individualized Ayurvedic support
Within traditional Ayurvedic assessment, selected Abhyangam, Swedana or Basti may be discussed where clinically appropriate. Traditional Vata-related explanations guide Ayurvedic planning; they do not establish a biomedical diagnosis or prove nerve repair. Procedures require individual suitability assessment, professional supervision and appropriate precautions.
Abhyangam and Swedana are supporting therapies; Basti is a distinct Panchakarma procedure requiring its own assessment. These options are not routine treatment for every nerve-related symptom and do not promise reversal of nerve damage, paralysis or stroke.
Post-stroke or paralysis-related concerns
Supportive Ayurvedic care may be discussed alongside an established medical and rehabilitation plan after individual assessment. Neurologist-directed care and indicated rehabilitation remain essential. The website does not promise restored movement, recovery from paralysis or prevention of another stroke.
Care is individualized after assessment. Do not stop or alter prescribed conventional medicines without the approval of your prescribing clinician. Follow-up considers your symptoms, tolerability and relevant medical monitoring; worsening symptoms or adverse reactions require medical assessment and referral when indicated.
When emergency care comes first
Sudden facial drooping, one-sided weakness or numbness, difficulty speaking, confusion, sudden vision or balance changes, or a sudden severe unexplained headache require emergency medical attention. Seek urgent help even if symptoms improve; do not wait for a clinic appointment or a WhatsApp reply. Progressive weakness, new bladder or bowel dysfunction, or saddle numbness require urgent medical assessment; do not wait for a routine appointment or a WhatsApp reply.
New facial weakness should not be assumed to be uncomplicated facial palsy without medical assessment. For non-emergency concerns, telephone or WhatsApp the clinic to enquire about consultation; an enquiry does not confirm an appointment.
